Red rice party (english version)

I made this reciepe picturing myself under the shadow of an oak tree, during a colorfl and joyful Gullah Geechee open air party: people dancing on a traditional soundtrack, children running and playing and a rich table laden with food. Easy to share, but tasty and remainding to the ancient flavors of this beautyful people.

Savory red rice
  1. Cut the pepper into small cubes; heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add the peppers and fry them, adding a pinch of salt. After about 6-7 minutes, remove from the heat and mix them with the red rice. Put aside.
Corn and sesame chips
  1. Prepare a corn mush by boiling the water and adding the cornmeal still mixing. Continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes. The water-flour proportion are indicative, based on the type of flour you have available, the important thing is to obtain a rather dense mass. Add the sesame seeds, mix and spread on a sheet of baking paper; cover with another sheet of paper, spread with a rolling pin to obtaina thin layer, uncover, cut into irregular lozenges and bake at 350 °F for about 20 minutes, until the chips became crispy. Serve cold.
Shrimp skewers
  1. Put the prawns to season for a few minutes with a drizzle of oil, pepper and garlic. In the meantime, cut the pepper into lozenges of about 1 inch; fry them in the pan greased with oil for about 2 minutes every side, they should only be softened slightly. Compose the skewers with a shrimp and a piece of pepper; fry them for 3-4 minutes adding a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Peanut dip
  1. In a saucepan, fry the onion with two tablespoons of oil and sugar; it must be golden. Add the peanut butter, paprika and half a teaspoon of salt (starting from unsweetened and unsalted peanut butter); mix well and then pour the water little by little. Initially the mixture become very thick; continue to mix and add water until a soft cream is obtained. Turn off the heat and transfer to the serving bowl.
